Thoughts from a Prayer Closet - SEASONS
God’s design incorporates the concept of seasons—spring, summer, autumn, and winter. Genesis 1:14 declares, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons, days, and years.” Similarly, on a spiritual level, God reveals Himself in “seasons.” He promises times of refreshing (Acts 3:19) and calls us to be “prepared in season and out of season” (2 Timothy 4:2).
Being “in season” signifies times when God makes Himself profoundly real to us. It’s a period of spiritual vitality, where prayer flows effortlessly, and sharing your faith feels natural. These are moments of spiritual joy and abundance. Conversely, being “out of season” refers to times when God seems hidden—when prayer and reading the Bible feel challenging, and spiritual progress appears stalled.
These “out of season” moments are opportunities for growth and perseverance. Just as we prepare for Christ’s return, God wants us to remain steadfast, regardless of how we feel. During these hidden times, persistent faith is key. Like Elijah waiting for rain after a long drought, we are called to continue seeking God. When the rain finally came, it was a sign that God had not forgotten His promise. Are you waiting for the rain in your life? Stay persistent in prayer and remain devoted to drawing closer to Him. The rain will come, and His presence will be revealed—perhaps sooner than you expect!
